STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Softball released their 2023 fall schedule on Thursday, as announced by head coach Mark Cumpian. The Texans will look to continue their success on the diamond after back-to-back 30-win seasons.
 
This fall the Purple and White will go head-to-head with seven different opponents. The Texans will play an eight-game slate, all at the Tarleton Softball Complex.
 
"We are excited about getting going this fall," said head coach Mark Cumpian. "The fall allows to see some different looks before we get into the spring and allows our players to compete for spots. We have a strong core group of returners along with 14 newcomers so it will be fun to see how everything plays out."
 
The Texans will open fall play with a pair of 10-inning contests. Western Texas will make their visit to Stephenville on Sept. 30. The following week the Purple and White will host the Cardinals from Trinity Valley on Oct. 4.
 
Next, Tarleton State will welcome former Lone Star Conference foe Angelo State back to familiar territory. The Texans and Rams will play a doubleheader on Oct. 8.
 
Following the doubleheader, the Texans will play their final four games, all 10-inning contests. Weatherford College will make the short trek to Stephenville for a Purple Thursday matchup on Oct. 12. Eight days later the Texans will host Midland College on Oct. 20.
 
The final two games of the fall slate will see Navarro Junior College and Midwestern State making the trip to the home of the Purple and White.
 
Navarro Junior College will face off against the Texans on Oct. 26 at the Tarleton Softball Complex. Following the matchup with the Bulldogs, the Texans will close out the fall season with a very familiar opponent.
 
The fall finale will take place on Nov. 5 as another former Lone Star Conference opponent makes their way to the Cowboy Capital of the World. The Purple and White will face off against the Mustangs of Midwestern State in a 10-inning affair.
