LAKE CHARLES, La. – Tarleton State (2-3) struggled once again to get runs across the plate as they fell to three-time Southland Conference Champion, the McNeese State Cowgirls (4-1) 5-1.
While the Cowgirls outhit the Texans 7-5, the big difference in the game was the seven runners left on by Tarleton State compared to the three left by McNeese State.
Kendall Daniel earned her second start of the season in the final game of the weekend. Unlike her first outing of the year when she went the distance striking out four in seven innings vs Lamar, Daniel struggled against McNeese only making it 1.1 innings giving up five hits, three runs, and walked two while striking out one.
Hannah Blincoe took over for Daniel in the second inning and went rest of the way as the Texans lost their third straight. Blincoe struck out four on the day and gave up two hits.
The Texans' lone run came in the top of the second inning when
Jordan Dickerson singled to first base scoring
Hannah Reed.
Makayla Cox,
Jordan Dickerson,
Kalyn Hill,
Brady Rowland and
Katy Schaefer all collected one hit on the day. Cox pinch hit for Dickerson in the seventh inning singling to left field marking her first collegiate hit.
The Texans will be back in action next weekend when they host the Whataburger Invitational. The first game for the Purple and White will be on Friday at 2 p.m. when the Texans host Lafayette. The full tournament schedule for the Texans can be found
