Tarleton State will hit the road once again, this time for three matches Thursday-Saturday. The Texans are a perfect 5-0 on the season with big wins over UTEP, New Mexico State and Oral Roberts.
Â
"We are very excited to have another opportunity to compete," said head coach
Elianne Douglas-Miron. "Although last week's weather was challenging, we managed to get a win under our belt against Oral Roberts and a doubles point against Texas State before that match was canceled. That gave us the confidence needed to be ready for this weekend. The girls had a good week of practice, and the fun part starts tomorrow."
Â
The Purple and White will start their road trip in east Texas just south of I-20 in Tyler, Texas. The Texans will take on the Apaches of Tyler Junior College on Thursday at 1 p.m. Last season Tarleton State swept TJC 7-0 in Stephenville and will look to keep things rolling this season.
Â
After the match in east Texas, the Texans will head further east across state lines for a matchup with Louisiana Tech on Friday at 12 p.m. The Purple and White hosted the Red and Blue in Stephenville last season losing 4-1. The Texans will look to bounce back this time in Ruston, Louisiana.
Â
The Texans will round out the three-match road trip at Northwestern State on Saturday with the matchup scheduled for a 12 p.m. first serve. This will mark the first time the Texans will face the Demons.
Â
The last time the Texans were in action, their match vs. Texas State was suspended due to weather. The last victory for the Purple and White came on Friday when Tarleton State defeated the Golden Eagles of Oral Roberts 6-1 in Stephenville. This marked the third straight win over Oral Roberts dating back to 2019.
Â
The Texans are 26-4 in singles action this season and 13-2 in doubles action.
