STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State returns home for a midweek doubleheader with Prairie View A&M on Tuesday, marking the ninth and 10th games between the two.
Texan Nation will get a chance to see the Purple and White in action at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. This marks the Texans' sixth and seventh home games this season. They are currently 4-1 at home and will look to extend their two-game winning streak at home on Tuesday.
"We are excited to be back at home tomorrow before we start a three week stretch of being on the road," said head coach
Mark Cumpian. "We are getting better each and every week and I'm excited to see what adjustments we make tomorrow against another conference champion."
Tarleton State comes into the matchup 8-0 vs. Prairie View A&M, six of those wins coming in Stephenville. The Texans have outscored the Panthers 75-19 over the eight matchups. They will look to extend their home winning streak over the Panthers to six following the midweek doubleheader.
The two teams first met on Feb. 24, 2021, with the Texans going 2-0 in the doubleheader with 7-3, 9-1 (5) wins. The lone two road games vs. the Panthers saw the Texans come out victorious with 11-3 (6) and 11-2 wins.
The last time the teams faced off Tarleton State swept the doubleheader winning 10-0 (5) and 6-0.
The last time the Texans were in action they went 2-3 at the Lion Invitational. Last weekend's matchups were no cakewalks with matchups vs. Summit League Champion Nebraska-Omaha, South Dakota and host Texas A&M-Commerce.
Tarleton State's two wins came on Day 2 of the tournament with wins over Nebraska-Omaha and Texas A&M-Commerce.
After dropping the first game to Nebraska-Omaha 9-0 on Friday, the Texans came out hungry on Saturday and walked off the Mavericks 4-3.

Saturday night was not the game the Texans expected but they still came out victorious with the 2-0 (8) win. The Texans and Lions pitching staffs were phenomenal through seven innings not allowing a runner to cross the plate for either team. Tarleton State finally broke the scoring open with a
Tristyn Trull two-run long ball over the left field fence. The long ball marked the only runs for either team on the night as
Hannah Blincoe came out in the bottom of the eighth slamming the door closed and sealing the Texans' second win of the day.
