NORMAN, Okla. – The Texans (12-13) will face current ranked No. 2 Oklahoma (22-1) on Tuesday in Norman for a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The matchup with the Sooners will mark the second ranked opponent that Tarleton State has faced this season as the Purple and White played then No. 2 Texas in Austin. The game was part of the 2024 Longhorn Invitational.
Tarleton State will mark the sixth opposing team to take the field at Oklahoma's newly opened Love's Field. The Sooner's opened their new stadium on March 1 as Oklahoma walked off Miami (OH) 9-7 for their first win at their new home.
OU is 8-1 at home this season with the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana being their lone loss. The Ragin Cajuns pulled off the upset win over then No. 1 Oklahoma 7-5 as the Sooners made an uncharacteristic three errors.
The last time the Texans were in action they took a 6-2 win over Presbyterian in their third game of the Jacksonville Spring Break Challenge hosted by Jacksonville in Florida. The Purple and White's final two games were canceled due to poor field conditions following torrential rains.
