STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Softball head coach
Mark Cumpian announced an addition to the 2024 campaign Thursday.
Texan Nation will get two more opportunities to see the Texans in action at home this spring as a doubleheader with Texas Southern has been added. The two teams will face off in Stephenville on April 9 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. This will mark the second trip to Stephenville for the Tigers.
The last time the Texans and Tigers faced off, Tarleton State took the doubleheader 5-3, 10-2 (6) on March 1, 2022, at the Tarleton Softball Complex.
The Purple and White will now play 23 contests at home this season. The Texans are currently 6-1 at home and will open their home portion of conference play March 22-23 when they host UT Arlington for a three-game series.
The doubleheader with Texas Southern was added due to the Texans final two games of the 2024 Jacksonville Spring Break Challenge being canceled due to poor field conditions following torrential rains in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
