OREM, Utah – Tarleton State will open conference play on the road for the second season in a row following their toughest non-conference slate in the Division I era.
 
The Texans currently sit at 12-15 on the season after matchups with current ranked No. 1 Oklahoma, then-ranked No. 2 Texas and Big 10 member Penn State. The Purple and White have wins over a handful of reigning conference champions in Hofstra (6-4, CAA), Nebraska-Omaha (4-3, Summit League) and Prairie View A&M (10-2 (5), 7-6 (8), SWAC).
 
"We are excited to get into conference play," said head coach Mark Cumpian. "We feel like a tough non-conference schedule has prepared us for the second half of the season."
 
The Texans and Wolverines of Utah Valley will play three games over two days. The first matchup is set for Friday at 3 p.m. CT with Game 2 following at 5:30 p.m. CT. The final game of the series will come on Saturday with first pitch set for 2 p.m. CT.
 
The last time the Texans were in action they faced their toughest competition of the season in current ranked No. 1 Oklahoma. The Purple and White held OU scoreless for innings two, three and four after the Texans gave up a three-spot in the first. Oklahoma then put up a five-spot in the bottom of the fifth putting a wrap on Game 1.
 
Game 2 saw the Texans get on the board vs. Oklahoma as Kalyn Hill hit an RBI double that scoreed Tristyn Trull in the top of the fourth. Tarleton State dropped the second matchup 12-1.
 
All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as well as live stats will be available for the contests as well.
