STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Beach Volleyball will once again make history as they will host Texas A&M-Kingsville for a doubleheader on Friday in Stephenville. The first match will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the second match scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The pair of matches will mark the fifth and six matches in program history as the Texans will look to keep things going following their 4-1 win over Nicholls State back on Feb 24.
It marked their first win in program history.
Emma Halcomb and
Allison Bryant picked up the Texans' first point with 21-14, 21-14 set wins before
Isabel Gonzaba and
Tatum Busch earned point two (21-15, 21-19) putting the Purple and White one point away from clinching.
Sydney Garrison and
Rajini Fitzmaurice earned the clinching point (21-15, 21-19).
Breanna McDonough and
Grayson Schirpik finished things off with a 22-20, 21-19 win.
The Texans opened their inaugural season at the Cowgirl Beach Bash hosted by McNeese State on Feb. 23-24. The Purple and White started things off hot as they went face-to-face with at the time No. 20 Cal Poly.
The Javelina's of Texas A&M Kingsville are currently 10-5 on the season and have a win over Nicholls State as well. The Javelinas finished last season 12-18 with an 0-6 record on the road.
