Tarleton State heads west to California Baptist for first WAC matchups in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Tarleton State makes their first trip to CBU after hosting the Lancers in Stephenville in 2021 and 2023.

The Texans are currently 15-20 overall with a conference record of 3-5 and will look to move back above .500 in conference as they take on the Lancers who are 17-18 overall and 4-3 in conference.

"These next two weekends are very crucial series for us as try to get our footing in the WAC standings," said head coach Mark Cumpian. "No games will be easy, so we have to put a good foot forward starting this weekend in Riverside."

Tarleton State is currently 3-4 with CBU all-time with 14-5, 3-2 wins on April 9-10, 2021 and a 2-0 win on March 31, 2023.

Senior centerfielder for the Texans Kelci Hill currently has the most hits in Division I Softball with 56.

Katy Schaefer now has hit 36 home runs while donning the Purple and White and is now just five away from tying Arianna Rodriquez (41, 2010-13) for second all-time in program history for home runs.

Last time the Texans were in action they split the midweek WAC doubleheader with Abilene Christian. Tarleton State took Game 1 8-5 before falling in Game 2 7-6. The all-time series with ACU stays tied at 36-36.

All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as well as live stats will be available for all contests.
