HOUSTON – Tarleton State fell victim to Stephen F. Austin and Houston Christian on Wednesday as they closed out their inaugural regular season.

Emma Halcomb and
Allison Bryant were the lone Texan pair to defeat the 'Jacks in the afternoon clash of the Purple and Whites'. The duo won in straight sets on Court 1 winning 21-18, 21-17 over Madison Hall and Katherine Hansen.
On Court 4,
Grayson Schirpik and
Rajini Fitzmaurice dropped their match in straight sets to SFA's Ariana Pagan and Meagan Ledbetter 22-20, 21-14.
Charlize Ching and Melian Ortiz Maldonado dropped their second match of the day as they battled with SFA down to the wire on Court 5 dropping the match in Set 3. The pair went down to Sophia Myers and Lexi Higgins 21-9, 9-21 and 15-11.
SFA clinched the match win on Court 2 as
Tatum Busch and
Breanna McDonough fell in straight sets 21-11, 21-19 to Elaina Amador and Abigail Elder.
Isabel Gonzaba and
Sydney Garrison once again pushed things to the end going three sets once again and coming up just short. The pair fell on Court 3 21-19, 15-21 and 15-8 to Ansley Gulledge and Brynn Dowd.

Ching and Ortiz Maldonado fell in straight sets on Court 5 to Houston Christian's Lauren Vickery and Kylann Griffith 21-10, 21-12. On Court 4 Fitzmaurice and Schirpik also fell in straight sets 21-14, 21-17 to Tatum Lockhardt and Mary Alper.
HCU clinched the match on Court 2 as McDonough and
Tatum Busch fell to Kristin Gilmour and Rachel Heilbrun 21-9, 21-8.
The pairing of Halcomb and Bryant dropped their match in straight sets to Kristen Kleymeyer and Abbey Bufkin 22-20, 22-20 on Court 1. The final pair for the Texans gave it everything they had coming up just short of preventing the sweep as they took HCU to a three-setter. Garrison and Gonzaba fell 2-1 to Audrey Pearce and Paige Palmer 21-19, 18-21 and 15-9.
The Texans will now await their seed for the Conference USA Championships that are set to take place April 25-27 in Youngsville, Louisiana.
