STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Texans will return home for eight games over two weeks after completing a two-week road trip that saw stops at California Baptist and Stephen F. Austin.
 
The first three of eight games will come Friday-Saturday when the Texans (16-25, 4-10 WAC) play host to the Grand Canyon Lopes (33-9, 12-2 WAC) from Phoenix. Things will kick off with a doubleheader on Friday with Game 1 scheduled for a 4 p.m. first pitch with Game 2 following at 6:30 p.m. The rubber match is set for an 11 a.m. start on Saturday
 
The Texans and Lopes have met a combined five times with two of the five occurring at the Tarleton State Softball Complex. GCU holds the slight advantage with a 3-2 all-time series record over Tarleton State. The Texans' last win over GCU came last season on March 24 as they took the series opening game 5-2 before dropping the last two of the series.
 
The last matchups in Stephenville saw both teams take a win with Tarleton State winning the first game 11-1 (6) followed by Grand Canyon earning an 8-0 (5) win.
 
Last time the Texans were in action, they picked up a Friday night win in the Piney Woods of east Texas before dropping the doubleheader by a combined two runs that lasted 18 innings between the two games.
 
Individually for the Texans, 
Kelci Hill has the second most hits (63) in the nation and trails only Boise State's Sophia Knight (64). She is tied 15th in doubles in the nation with 14 this season, including current Texan and teammate 
Kayla Wallace. The senior outfielder has five triples, tied for eighth best in the nation. The California native is tied for 25th in total bases with 93.
 
Individually for the Lopes, Ashley Trierweiler leads the team in batting average with a .446 average putting her 24th in the nation. She also leads the team with hits (62, tied 2nd in the nation), just one behind 
Kelci Hill.
 
The three-game series will air live on ESPN+ as well as live stats will be available.
