MONROE, La. – Following three straight home tournaments to open the season and going 11-4 during that time, Tarleton State is set to compete in their first and only regular season road tournament of the 2025 campaign.
 
Last time the Texans were in action it saw them fall to the Cougars of Big 12 Houston on Tuesday 6-3 as their seventh inning rally came up just short with the winning run on deck.
 
The Purple and White will get things started in the boot on Friday morning when they take on Memphis at 11 a.m. marking the first of two meetings on the weekend. That afternoon the squad from Stephenville will take on host ULM at 4 p.m.
 
Saturday morning features Memphis for the second time on the weekend, this time the two will meet an hour earlier getting underway at 10 a.m. Tarleton State will then have a quick turnaround as they are set to face SEMO at 12:30 p.m.
 
On Sunday the Texans will wrap things up for the weekend as they face SEMO for a second time, this time at 11:30 a.m.
 
Through just over three weeks of play, the Texans have multiple athletes leaving their mark nationally. Austin Germain currently is leading the nation in doubles with nine on the season as well as she is 56th in batting average at .480. With her nine doubles through 15 games, she ranks 10th in doubles per game. With lots of doubles come lots of hits and she currently ranks 18th in the nation in hits with 24. She also sits 30th in runs scored with 18 and is 40th in total bases with 38. Tristyn Trull sits 19th in triples with two, four behind the nation leader in Noriega Ahmiya of San Jose State who has six thus far.
 
Other Texans top in the nation include Kalyn Hill who is 28th in doubles with six and has caught four base runners stealing which puts her 37th in the nation. Casey Schultz and JJ Duke are tied for 67th in doubles with five thus far. Hayden Fox is 13th in the nation in sac bunts per game at 0.38. Three Texans, Duke, Germain, and Kiana Gibson are tied for 25th in sac flies with two each.
 
On the pitching side of things, Alexa Rehmeier is currently sixth in the nation in saves with two. Shelby Schultz continues to pound the strike zone as she sits 36th in the nation in strikeouts with 43 thus far. She also ranks 13th in strikeouts per seven innings at 10.6
 
As a team, the Texans are 10th in the nation in doubles with 31 and 9th in triples with seven. The Purple and White also ranks seventh in total sac flies with nine. The rock slingers for Tarleton State are 12th in the nation in team strikeouts per seven innings averaging 8.14 strikeouts a game.
 
In the WAC, the Purple and White continue to hold four of the top-15 spots in batting average as Germain leads the Texans ranking second in the conference. As a team, Tarleton State is in the top-two of 20 different statistical categories in the WAC.
