Tarleton State Softball returns home for three-game set with Seattle U Friday-Saturday

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – After the Texans best road trip of the season, Tarleton State returns home to the friendly confines of the Tarleton State Softball Complex Friday-Saturday as the Purple and White will host Seattle U for a three-game conference series.

Tarleton State is coming off of their biggest wins of the season handing Grand Canyon their first home series loss since 2022 and first conference series loss since 2023. The Texans took Game 1 3-0 shutting out the Lopes, the first time they have been shut out since No. 8 Oregon shutout GCU earlier in the year. After dropping Game 2 in heartbreaking walk-off fashion by Grand Canyon, Tarleton State rallied and took the rubber match in Game 3 5-2 sealing the series win over the Lopes, the Texans first ever series win over the squad from Phoenix.

Seattle U heads to the Lone Star State following a midweek doubleheader with Cal Poly on Wednesday splitting the doubleheader. The Redhawks went up 5-1 in Game 1 before the road team tied things up 5-5 with the Red and Black escaping with a 6-5 walk-off victory. Game 2 went the Mustangs way as they took the game 2-1 ending the Redhawks 11 game winning streak.

Last time the two teams met, the Texans took the three-game series in Seattle 2-1 with back-to-back 3-1 wins. The year before in 2023 the two programs met in Seattle once again with the Purple and White taking the first series in Seattle 2-1. After dropping their first game in the pacific northwest, Tarleton State came back with 7-3 and 12-4 (6) wins.

The lone time the two programs have met in Stephenville saw the Redhawks take the series 2-1 with the Texans lone win coming in the team's first ever meeting 2-1.

Tarleton State holds the all-time series lead over Seattle U 5-4 while the Redhawks have slightly outscored the Texans 40-39. The largest margin of victory for the Stephenville squad came on March 18, 2023, in Seattle when the Purple and White run-ruled the Red and Black in six innings 12-4.

The trip to Stephenville for the Redhawks marks just their second time ever with their first in April 2021.
