NEW ORLEANS – With just one week remaining before the Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championship in Louisiana, Tarleton State will conclude its regular season in the state on Friday-Saturday at Tulane's New Orleans Classic.
The Texans will face McNeese on Friday at 8:30 a.m., Tulane on Friday at 11 a.m., No. 18 Florida Atlantic on Saturday at 11 a.m. and Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. to conclude their second regular season in team history. Tarleton State is 5-11 this season, already with three more wins in the books compared to their inaugural year's 2-13 campaign.
All four matches this weekend will be played at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.
Tarleton will open against the Cowgirls, who the Texans have played once before, on the road in their second ever match in 2024, a 4-1 loss. Tarleton is 2-2 opening their tournaments this season. The Cowgirls are 11-13 overall this year.
The Texans' other three matches will all be the first in each series' history. Tulane is 21-9 overall and 8-1 at home. Florida Atlantic is 14-13 overall and 10-5 in neutral matches. SLU is 10-16 overall and 6-13 in neutral matches.
FAU is currently ranked No. 18 in the AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll, while Tulane received votes and is essentially No. 22 (the poll stops at 20).
Tarleton State's Court 1 duo has remained the same in each match with
Allison Bryant and
Emma Halcomb going 8-8.
Charlize Ching has the most wins on the team, sitting at 9-7 between Courts 4-5, and
Olivia Fuentes has the best winning percentage on the team at .667, with an 8-4 mark between Courts 4-5.
Bella Parayno and
Christian Mitchell each have six wins,
Grayson Schirpik has five wins,
Amaya Brown and
Hayden Huber have four wins apiece,
Sofia Bendele has three,
Jayda Harris-Amete has two, and
Camilla Chun has one.
