Tarleton State Volleyball lands transfers from Liberty, HCU, UTEP

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Volleyball announced the additions of three transfers for the Texans' 2026 season on Tuesday. The Texans have added Aubrey Acheson from Liberty, Peyton Fadal from Houston Christian and Alexis Massey from UTEP.
 
"I'm so excited to add these established D1 student-athletes to our 2026 roster," head coach Jazmyne Johnson said. "Aubrey, Peyton and Alexis shined for their respective institutions last season and they will add experience and more competitiveness to our team. We have an important spring ahead of us to keep building on the foundation we started last year."
 
Acheson (5-5) played the last two seasons at Liberty as a defensive specialist/libero. She played in 60 career matches and 174 career sets, recording 192 career digs and 22 aces. Last season as a sophomore, she had 177 digs in 103 sets, posting double-digit digs seven times. Her career-high was a 15-dig night against Radford on Sept. 15.
 
Acheson, a San Antonio native, graduated from Brentwood Christian School in Austin. There she was a four-year varsity letter winner and helped her team to four district titles, as Brentwood qualified for the state finals in both her junior and senior seasons. She surpassed 2,000 career digs at the prep level, named First Team All-State, State All-Tournament Team, District MVP and Team MVP her senior season. She was also a 2021 All-State honorable mention, plus was named First Team all-district as a sophomore and senior, Second Team All-District as a junior. Acheson played club volleyball for Austin Skyline Juniors
 
Academically, Acheson made the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll her freshman season. In high school, she was twice Academic All-State. She will major in business at Tarleton State University.
 
Fadal (5-9) played the last two seasons at Houston Christian. The setter played in a career 32 matches and 103 sets for the Huskies, posting 846 assists (8.21 assists per set). Last year as a sophomore, Fadal led the team in assists with 695 (next closest at 306), despite missing 10 matches due to injury. She logged at least 20 assists in 19 of her 20 matches played, posting a career-high 54 assists in a four-set win against New Orleans on Oct. 21. Across her 32 matches, Fadal recorded 50 assists twice, 40 assists seven times, 30 assists 15 times, 20 assists 22 times and 10 assists 28 times.
 
Also last season, Fadal was named to the All-Tournament team at the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Bash after averaging 9.5 assists per game over three matches. She earned SLC Setter of the Week honors for the first time in her career after averaging 11.5 assists in leading Huskies to two road wins to open conference play. She earned her second SLC Setter of the Week accolade after averaging 12 assists and 9.5 digs across a two-match week.
 
Fadal is a Beach City, Texas, native. She was a three-year starter at Barbers Hill High School, a TGCA 5A All-State selection in each of her final two seasons. She was a three-time All-District selection who was District MVP after both junior and senior seasons following District Newcomer of the Year honors as a sophomore. Fadal was named to both the Houston Chronicle and VYPE All-Greater Houston first-teams as a senior after leading the team to a regional finals appearance. In her three varsity seasons, she collected 2,838 assists while leading the Eagles to three straight district titles and a combined 121-20 overall record. She also accumulated over 4,000 assists in her five years of club volleyball, playing four years with Xcel Volleyball Club and one year with TAV-Houston.
 
Academically, Fadal made All-Academic last semester at Houston Christian, plus was Academic All-District four times and Academic All-State twice in high school. Her major at Tarleton State University will be Health Science- Kinesiology EAHP.
 
Massey (6-0) has played the last three years at the D1 level, including two seasons at UTEP (2024-25) and a year at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2023). She had her best statistical season last year for the Miners, totaling 100 assists across 21 matches and 56 sets (1.79 assists per set). She logged five double-digit assist matches, including a career-high 23 assists in a win against Louisiana Tech on Oct. 17.
 
Across her three collegiate years, Massey has played in 49 career matches and 92 career sets, recording 196 assists. Each team she has been on has won 20-plus matches, with two NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Miners' first ever in 2024. Her collegiate teams have combined to go 74-21 (.779) overall and 47-5 (.904) in conference play over her three-year career.
 
Massey is a Las Cruces, New Mexico, native. She was homeschooled and played her prep volleyball at Las Cruces High School. There she led her team to two state appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2022 and a third-place finish in 2019. She was selected First Team All-District and Second Team All-State in 2021. Her club team, Texas Performance, earned a regional championship in 2022 and were regional runners-up in 2021.
 
Academically, Massey was named to the 2025 CUSA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and earned a CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal in 2025. She will study accounting at Tarleton State University.
