Tarleton State Volleyball travels to Little Rock for first meeting with Trojans Thursday

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Tarleton State Volleyball meets Little Rock for the first time in program history on Thursday at the Jack Stephens Center at 6 p.m.

The Texans will preview the Jack Stephens Center, the site of the UAC Tournament. The top six teams in the league standings make postseason play. Tarleton State is currently fifth in the UAC standings.

Tarleton State, who finished third in the Western Athletic Conference last year, are looking for their first conference title in program history at the Division I level.

Thursday's match will be available to watch on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided through Stat Broadcast.

LEAVE IT TO LEDDY
  • Stephenville native and libero Leddy Rae Guinn was named United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 12.
  • Guinn, a junior from Stephenville, is the first Texan libero to earn a conference weekly award since 2024 (Emma Halcomb). This is Guinn's first weekly honor at the Division I level.
  • The Stephenville native was key in Tarleton State's rivalry win against Abilene Christian (10/10). Guinn collected 21 digs, her fifth match with 20+ digs. She also helped the Texans force ACU into a .137 hit percentage, allowing Tarleton State to win its fourth straight match in the rivalry.
  • With the Texans having the task of replacing Western Athletic Conference Libero of the Year, Morgan Carter, Guinn has played an important role in filling those shoes in 2026. Guinn leads the Texans in digs and digs per set.
  • Guinn picked up her first Division I honor in her team's hometown tournament this year, being named to the 2026 Tarleton State Invitational All-Tournament Team.
  • Her 26 digs in the UAC opener are the most by a Tarleton State player in a conference opener in the D1 era. It was the most digs by a Tarleton State player in a conference opener since 2009.
  • Guinn transferred from Lubbock Christian, where she received multiple conference accolades, including All-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention, All-Lone Star Conference Tournament Team honors, Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week, and Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week.
  • At nearby Stephenville High School, Guinn earned Honorable Mention All-State honors (TSWA, 4A) and was named District 6-4A Defensive Player of the Year at libero. She guided her team to a 34-6 record and a Region I-4A Final appearance.
  • Her love for the sport of volleyball began by coming to Tarleton State Volleyball matches as a kid in the old volleyball gym.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
  • Tarleton State Volleyball fifth year outside hitter/opposite Madison Rice-Locket leads the Texans in double-doubles in 2026.
  • Rice-Locket came up with her fourth double-double of the season against Abilene Christian (10/10), collecting 13 kills and 12 digs.
  • The Memphis transfer and Louisville native had six double-doubles in 2025, good for second on the team behind setter Megan Hodges.
  • Rice-Locket recently obtained her 500th career kill in the Purple and White.
  • She was also a JVA All-American and a member of the USA Volleyball U19 National Team. She was ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Kentucky in high school.
DINH DOMINATING
  • Alyssa Dinh was one of seven players selected for the Preseason All-UAC Team. Dinh's placement on the All-UAC Preseason Team marks the third consecutive year the Texans have had representation on a preseason all-conference team.
  • She has accumulated a .700+ hit percentage in three matches this year (.733 vs. Sam Houston on Sept. 10, .765 vs. East Texas A&M on Sept. 18, .700 vs. West Virginia on Sept. 19)
  • Her .765 hit percentage on Sept. 18 is tied for the third-best in a match in program history. She now owns two spots in the top five in that category.
  • She closed the 2025 season with 86 kills and an attacking percentage of .286. Her 1.51 kills per set made her one of the WAC's most efficient attackers.
