Tarleton State Tennis’ match against Texas State declared no contest

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Tennis' match on Saturday against Texas State at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility was abandoned due to rain and has been declared a "no contest". 

The Texans were up 2-1 in the match before rain suspended play. Tarleton State picked up two singles wins to take the lead prior to the stoppage. 

Seniors Ximena Morales and Emma Persson picked up a bagel and a 6-0 doubles win on Court 1 before Texas State took the final two doubles matches to take the point. Freshman Aya Ishii won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 on Court 2 while sophomore Duru Kuscu was victorious on Court 6 6-0, 6-4. The matches from sophomore Maria Castano (Court 1 - 7-5, 2-3), Persson (Court 3 - 6-1, 5-4), Morales (Court 4 - 6-4, 2-3), and freshman Marissa Minetti (Court 5 - 7-5, 2-3) all went unfinished. 

Tarleton State Tennis wraps up the weekend with a Sunday matinee against Incarnate Word at 11 a.m. at the Tarleton State Tennis Facility. Admission to all Tarleton State Tennis home matches are free.
