Tarleton State Tennis adds Kennesaw State transfer Rianna Coreisa

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Tennis signed its first transfer for the 2026-27 season, adding Rianna Coreisa from Kennesaw State.

Coreisa helped KSU to a third-place finish in Conference USA this past year. The Romanian will arrive in Stephenville as a sophomore with three seasons of eligibility left.

"Rianna brings a level of maturity and experience that we need for our team," head coach Elianne Douglas-Miron said. "She has the technical skills and competitive drive to excel in the United Athletic Conference and help us continue building a championship culture. Her previous college tennis experience combined with her genuine desire to be part of our program's success makes her a great addition to our roster. We're confident she'll make an immediate impact on our team and we can't wait to get her in the Purple and White!"

Joining KSU in Spring 2026, Coreisa helped her team reach the second-longest win streak in program history with eight straight victories. She was also key in lifting KSU to its highest-ranked win over opponents to date, with a 4-0 decision over No. 58 South Alabama.

In Romania, Coreisa competed at the National University of Physical Education & Sport and attended Emil Racovita National College. She quickly rose through her country's national rankings and climbed as high as No. 7 in the Romanian U18 singles rankings. Coreisa also won a pair of ITF doubles titles and owned a Universal Tennis Rating as high as 9.26.

Representing her country on the national stage, Coreisa helped her team win the U18 National Championship in 2021. Coreisa also placed third at the Romanian U18 National Championships as an individual.

The Texans turned into champions in 2025-26. Not only did Tarleton State win the 2026 Conference Championship without giving up a point, but the Texans also secured their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance at the Division I level. Tarleton State swept all major awards and returns 2026 Conference Player of the Year, Maria Castano, and 2026 Conference Freshman of the Year, Aya Ishii, in 2026-27.
