STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Cross Country continues with its second meet of the season at the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State at the Greiner Family Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.
 
The women will start the meet off with a 6K at 8:15 am. The men's 8K race will follow at 8:50 a.m. Live Results will be provided Red Dirt Running. The meet will be streamed on delay, with the women's race starting at 7 p.m.
 
The Texans will be competing in a loaded field with three of the top five teams in the NCAA on the men's side and two of the top three on the women's side. The reigning national champion Oklahoma State men enter the meet No.1 in the nation along with New Mexico who is currently ranked No. 2 and Oregon who is No. 5. On the women's side No. 2 New Mexico and No. 3 BYU headline the stacked field of competition. The Texans will be competing against fellow UAC foe Abilene Christian.
 
Last time out, Diego Flores posted the top finish for the Texans placing fifth at the John McKenzie Invitational. Tyler Hedgepeth was the second Texan to finish, placing 12th overall. The Purple and White traveled in a pack with Ethan Johnston closely trailing Hedgepeth clocking in at 16th overall. Michael Fuller was the next to finish, recording an 18^th place performance to record four Texans in the top 20.
 
On the women's side, Ava Tannehill paced the Texans. Tannehill placed 14^th overall and was the second highest-finishing freshman. For her efforts, Tannehill was awarded the Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Week in her collegiate debut. Sadie Larson was the second Texan to cross also as a freshman, placing in 23rd overall. Returner, Kaitlyn Gale, crossed next in 26^th with Rylie Rivers coming in right behind her in 27^th.
 
Tarleton State will next be in action at the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M on Oct. 16. That meet will be the regular season finale for the Texans.
