Biography

2008: Played in 44 games for the TexAnns, starting 41 contests... Named to All-LSC Academic Team... Recorded 12 runs batted in in 85 at-bats for the TexAnns... Was second on the team in putouts with 230 and had a .969 fielding percentage...

2007: Played in all 56 games for the TexAnns while starting in 55... Ended the season with a 7-5 record while appearing in 20 games and starting in 18... Posted a 2.94 ERA with 35 strikeouts and only 84 hits allowed against 323 batters... Gave up just one home run and 16 doubles on the season... Led the team with 322 putouts and a .984 fielding percentage... Posted a .247 batting average including 39 hits, seven doubles, and six home runs... Recorded 20 runs, 26 runs batted in and 64 total bases...

2006: Played in 28 of 46 games and started in 25... Finished the season with an 8-9 record in the circle and a 5.38 ERA... Recorded 36 strikeouts in 78 innings pitched and held opponents to 112 hits off 345 at bats... Posted a .273 batting average with 15 hits off 55 at bats... Had eight runs, two home runs, 15 runs batted in, 72 putouts and a .950 fielding percentage.

High School: Graduated from Deer Park High in 2005... Named first team all-district as a senior... Voted team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior... Named team’s Offensive Player of the year during senior year... Posted a 1.44 ERA... Batted .359 with two homeruns, four doubles, and 22 RBI...

Coach Mata says: As a senior leader, I expect to see Tamra have her best year ever. She worked hard on the field and in the cage all fall. She is a great defensive first baseman, her pitching was very good this fall, and her hitting was the strongest I’ve seen it in all the time she’s been here. Tamra is so intelligent in the classroom, but also brings a field savvy to our team that can truly be the core of our leadership and success.
