How to Make a Tutor Request on ARMS
- Log onto ARMS - https://my.armssoftware.com/arms/login
- Username and password is your Tarleton email and Password
- Click on Workflows (Top left side of the webpage)
- Click on Workflow Launchpad (Dropdown option)
- Under “Academic Forms”, Find and click on “Tutor Request”
- Fill out the form as directed and submit.
The tutor coordinator will then schedule your appointment and you will receive an email confirming your appointment from EAB. You should also receive a message on EAB, from your tutor, communicating the tutor session logistics. If you do not receive a response from the tutor, send an email to
mvanvalkenburg@tarleton.edu. Finally, you will receive a reminder on the day of your appointment, which will consist of an email and text the morning of the tutor session.
No Show/Late Cancel Policy Agreement
A no show or late cancel will be marked against a student-athlete if either of the following situations occur:
- If the student is more than 20 minutes late or misses the tutor session.
- A student-athlete must contact the tutor at least 24 hours in advance if they cannot attend a scheduled individual tutoring session. If a student-athlete that does not contact a tutor with at least 24 hour’s notice of not being able to attend a scheduled individual tutoring session, it is a no show.
I understand the following repercussions will take place:
- 1st No Show: Academic Coordinator in Athletics notified and student is warned.
- 2nd No Show: Academic Coordinator in Athletics notified; Coach notified and student required to meet with tutor coordinator (tutoring suspended until meeting has been held).
- 3rd No Show: Academic Coordinator notified; Coach notified and student's tutoring privileges may be suspended for the remainder of semester.
Other Tutoring Policies
- Tutoring appointments should ONLY occur on campus.
- A tutor requests should be submitted 48 hours before the tutoring session is needed.
- Take Home Exams or Quizzes: Tutors are not allowed to work with a student once the student has a take-home exam or quiz. The student must meet with their professor or SI for help on this type of work.
- Tutors will not engage in electronic communication with their students other than to request course materials (i.e., essay drafts, prompts, syllabi, articles, lecture slides, etc.) and confirm meeting logistics.
