De La Poza Cohrs played his true freshman campaign at Hutchinson CC last season. He was the team’s kicker for all but one extra point all year, making 15-of-20 field goal attempts, including a 52-yarder, and 53-of-56 extra point attempts. His 98 points made him the top point scorer at the JUCO level this past year, and his 52-yarder was the longest FG in school history. He made that in the season finale against Iowa Western CC.
 
De La Poza Cohrs played his prep football at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas. He played three varsity years there, his first years ever playing football, named All-State all three years at kicker and even All-State at linebacker. His kickoffs resulted in a touchback 96 percent of the time, a school record.
 
De La Poza Cohrs, a Palma, Spain, native, will major in sports management with a business minor at Tarleton State University.
