“We have some history with Caden, he signed with San Antonio out of high school, so Coach Nix recruited him coming out of high school and had some time with him in San Antonio, so he’s a guy we targeted way early as we lost our two inside linebackers,” Whitten said. “We felt strongly he was one of our top targets way back in Week 5 or 6 and so we’ve been on him and were able to sign him in the early December signing period and he’s now here and enrolled and doing great. So, we expect he will be an impactful player for us.”

Colt, a San Antonio native, was a three-year starter at New Braunfels Canyon High School. He was the District 12-5A D-I Defensive MVP his senior year and selected for the San Antonio Sports All-Star Game. That season he recorded 95 tackles (61 solo), eight tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, a pair of fumble recoveries and a pass breakup. He was a 3-star prospect by 247Sports and ESPN.
