“Danny Joiner has played a lot of football,” Whitten said. “He had a high ankle sprain that required surgery last year. We got to watch him on film against North Alabama – very physical player who plays extremely hard, loves to play ball. His dad’s a high school coach in Kansas. I think he is an outstanding signing for us as we graduated two tight ends, I think he is a really big addition to our team.”

Joiner is a Kansas City, Missouri, native. He played four varsity years, three at captain, at North Kansas City High School. Joiner was a two-time All-State TE, the conference offensive player of the year, four times All-Conference at TE, three times All-District TE and three times All-Conference at linebacker.
