Johnson spent the past two seasons at Houston Christian, playing in a combined eight games. Last year he recorded 11 tackles and one tackle for loss in four games. In 2024, Johnson played in four games as a true freshman, logging 3.5 tackles for loss, 11 tackles, one quarterback hurry and a pass breakup. His best collegiate game came against Louisiana Christian on Sept. 14, 2024, where he had eight tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup. He also had two tackles in the season opener that year at SMU.
 
Johnson was a three-star recruit out of Clear Springs High School. His senior year he had 33 tackles, three sacks and nine tackles for loss, earning First Team All-District honors. He was chosen to play in the U.S. Army Bowl.
 
Johnson, a Webster, Texas, native, will major in sports management at Tarleton State University.
