Biography
Anderson arrives at Tarleton State after three years at Wyoming, including starting all 12 games at quarterback for the Cowboys last season. Last year he completed 189-of-336 (.563) passes for 1,971 yards and 12 touchdowns, with 10 interceptions. He had four multi-touchdown games (against Northern Iowa on Sept. 6, at Colorado on Sept. 20, vs. San Jose State on Oct. 11 and vs. Colorado State on Oct. 25). He threw for a season-high 304 yards against San Jose State to go with the two touchdown passes.

Altogether at Wyoming, Anderson played in a combined 21 games, completing 259-of-456 (.568) for 2,926 yards, 18 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He played in nine games and made three starts in 2024, throwing six touchdowns with three interceptions. He also had two rushing touchdowns that season. He was named the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week and MW Freshman of the Week after leading the Pokes to a win against New Mexico. In his first career start, a 49-45 win over New Mexico, Anderson threw for a career-high 342 yards, the most passing yards by a Cowboy since 2015. It was also the most by a true freshman or redshirt freshman in the Mountain West era of Cowboy Football.

Anderson played his prep football at Southlake Carroll High School. He was a three-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals, plus was ranked by The Dallas Morning News as the No. 71 player on its Top 100 list of Texas recruits for 2023. Anderson succeeded former Southlake Carroll High five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers, now of the Miami Dolphins. After taking over as the starting quarterback as a junior in 2021, Anderson led Southlake Carroll to a 14-1 record, the Texas 6A D-1 state semifinals and he was named a Texas District 4-6A First Team All-District honoree. Anderson completed 204-of-338 passes (.604) for 3,036 yards, 34 touchdown passes and only eight interceptions in 2021. He added 140 rushing yards and seven rushing TD’s for 3,176 yards of total offense. His senior season of 2022, he helped guide Southlake Carroll to a 13-1 record and the state quarterfinals. He completed 76-of-98 passes (.776) for 1,113 yards, 14 touchdowns and no interceptions in the six games he played.
