Biography
Njenge has played at three previous institutions; Gardner-Webb in 2024, Lamar from 2022-23, and Southern Nazarene in 2021. He played in 12 games last season, recording 31 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and six tackles for loss. He opened his Gardner-Webb career against Wofford with a season-high nine tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. Njenge played in 18 games at Lamar and four games at Southern Nazarene.
“Pius Njenge is a strong, physical guy, who we think will have a real impact on our team,” Whitten said. “He has great size, great length, and is strong – he’s a good player who will help us.”
Njenge is a Houston native, where he played two varsity years at Stratford High School. He will study marketing at Tarleton State University.
