2008: Started 14 games for the TexAnns as a true freshman... Made 22 appearances going 10-5 on the season...  Finished the season with a 3.66 ERA and 92 strikeouts... Limited opponents to a .224 batting average...

     
High School: Three-time all-academic team honoree... Two-time first team all-district selection... Named team Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior... Selected as district Co-MVP as a senior...

     
Personal: 2007 graduate of Seguin High School... Parents are Patricia and Robert Zearfoss... Father played baseball for Southwestern University from 1980-84 and was named an academic All-American in 1983... Has one sister Amber (15)... Says the reason she chose Tarleton was because she liked the small town and family atmosphere... Major is accounting... Birthday is August 9, 1989...

           
Coach Mata says: Lauren had a strong year in the pitching circle last year.  She is so fundamentally sound and looks even better this year.  She is much more confident out there this year and I think she will have a great season and help us go a long, long way.  She’s got the intelligence and work ethic to be very successful.
