Biography
Sophomore (13-14):
Competed in indoor and outdoor as a heptathlete/decathlete for the Texans... Finished indoor with season best of 6.31m (LJ), 1.75m (HJ), 3.30 (PV), 11.93m (SP), 6.76 (55m), 8.48 (55H), 23.48 (200m), 2:50.80 (1000m) and 4,623 in the heptahlon… Competed in seven meets during outdoor season claiming 24 top-five finishes… Finished outdoor with season best of 53.01m (Jav), 36.44m (Dis), 12.74m (SP), 6.68m (LJ), 3.55m (PV), 1.82m (HJ), 16.57 (110mH), 4:42.59 (1500m) and 50.01 (400m)… Hit a provisional mark in the decathlon every meet… Received NCAA South Central All-Region honors as a decathlete… Received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors…
Freshman (12-13):
Competed in five track meets for the Texans as a true freshman… Represented Tarleton in four events – 400m, 200m, long jump, javelin…Set a season best time in the 400m with a fourth place finish at the McMurry Tri Meet in 50.61… Competed at the LSC Championships finishing 25th in the 200m (22.92), and 12th in the javelin 45.51m (149’ 4”)… Will become a decathlete in 2014.
Salado High School:
Was a four-year letterman in track and field, a three-year letterman in football and a one-year letterman in basketball... Team captain for track and football... District and Regional champion in track and field as a senior... In football, first-team all-district wide receiver, first-team all-district cornerback, all-area, team MVP... In track and field, named the team's Most Valuable Sprinter as a senior and junior... Region and District champs in 4x100m relay... Finished fourth at state in 4x100m relay... Holds the school record in Long Jump, 4x100m relay and 4x200m relay... One-act play state champion as the leading male role... All-Star cast member... Academic all-district in basketball.

Is a 2012 graduate of Salado High School... Son of Terri and Sam Best... Has a sister, Reagan... Father, Sam, played football for Howard Payne University and still holds multiple records... Majoring in Business... Born Jan. 8, 1994.
