High School: Named golf Newcomer of the Year in 2004... Won 5A state tennis doubles championship in 2004 & 2005... Was 5A mixed doubles state champion in 2006...

Personal: 2007 graduate of James Bowie High School in Arlington... Parents are Janet and Dennis... Has three siblings, Chrissie (21), Dennis (30) and Laura (40)... Sister Chrissie plays tennis for Tarleton... Says her best asset to the team is her good attitude...Major is pre-physical therapy...

Coach Doyle says, “Carla won 2nd place in her first college tournament so you can imagine what this girl has in store for us. She has the ability to be very good, just a very good athlete in tennis and golf. I look for Carla to be tough to beat in every tournament she plays in. She stays focused and does not let outside things bother her. Our best putter, she should be good for four years.”
