When the 2024 season begins, Matti Theurer will begin her first season as a graduate assistant for the Tarleton State Volleyball team.
Prior to becoming a member of the coaching staff, Theurer played four seasons for the Texans.
In 2023, Theurer played in all 31 matches and helped the Texans win five of their final seven regular season matches to earn the No. 6 seed in the WAC Tournament, their first NCAA Division I postseason tournament berth. Theurer was twice named the WAC Libero of the Week and earned an Academic All-WAC honor. She posted a career-high 504 digs in 123 sets played, contributing a career-high 123 assists and 26 service aces. Overall, Tarleton State finished with their most regular season wins in D1 program history (16) and finished with their most conference wins (seven) since joining the Western Athletic Conference.
Overall in her Texan career, Theurer played in 90 matches from 2020-23, posting 806 digs, 155 assists and 49 service aces.
Before arriving in Stephenville, Theurer lettered three years and was a team captain at Canyon High School. She led her team to an area championship (2018) and bi-district championship (2019) in her final two seasons. She was honored twice with All-District honors, including a 2019 First Team selection.
