Adams is entering his first season in 2023-24 as an assistant coach in the Athletic Performance department at Tarleton. He is in charge of training Tarleton Women’s Basketball, Tarleton Women’s Soccer, and Tarleton Track and Field, as well as assisting with several other sports and overseeing weight room maintenance.
This will be Adams’ third year altogether at Tarleton, as he spent two seasons in Stephenville from 2015-17 as a Tarleton Athletic Performance Graduate Assistant. During his original stint with the Texans, Adams assisted with training for the football, volleyball and men's and women's basketball programs, plus he was the head strength coach for the throwers on the track and cheer teams. He was also in charge of facility maintenance and assisted with nutrition for athletes.
Prior to returning to Tarleton, Adams was the Director of Athletic Performance at Ottawa University in Kansas for five years (2018-23). Adams worked with the football, women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and the flag football team, plus oversaw all aspects of the Braves’ athletic performance department. He also spent his first three seasons at Ottawa as the head men's and women's powerlifting coach as well as his duties as Director of Athletic Performance.
In-between his first stint at Tarleton and his time at Ottawa, Adams was an assistant sports performance coach at Houston and was an intern for the football strength and conditioning program at Texas. At Houston, he was the strength coach for women's tennis and women's golf and assisted with the Cougars football team. While at UT, he was responsible for training sessions, assisted with nutrition, did hydration testing, and assisted with the Catapult Data System. Adams also spent the summer of 2016 as a sports performance coach at the Performance Course in Aledo, Texas, and worked nearly three years as the student strength and conditioning coach for football at Howard Payne (January 2012 to December 2014).
Adams was a letterman on the football team at Howard Payne, graduating in December of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Science. Adams earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Tarleton State University in December of 2016. He is certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) – SCCC, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) – CSCS and the USAW – SPC, & is RPR level 1 & 2 certified.
Adams and his wife, Allyson, live in Stephenville with their two sons, Reed and Cole.
Tarleton Men's Golf Showcases their Main Course, Harbor Lakes Golf Club
Harbor Lakes is the home course for the Tarleton Men's Golf team. It is one of the finest courses in the DFW area located in Granbury, Texas. The course features a challenging links style layout at 7,051 yards. The course is also surrounded by Lake Granbury, which has 13 holes with water hazards to challenge players and enhance their skills.
