Entering 2025-26, Andrew Edson will serve his second season as Tarleton State’s Senior Associate Athletic Director, Chief Financial Officer.
 
Edson leads the finance and business operations for Tarleton State Athletics, joining the Texans with a robust background in athletic finance and administration.
 
Edson launched his career at Georgetown University, initially as a Business Office Associate in athletics while pursuing his master’s degree. His dedication and expertise led to successive promotions to roles including Director of Team Business Operations and Director of Business Operations. He culminated his tenure at Georgetown as Assistant Athletics Director for Business and Strategy.
 
In 2022, Edson assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), overseeing comprehensive aspects of operations including business office management, information technology, facilities, game operations, and capital projects. He also served as sport administrator for the softball program during his tenure at UIC.
 
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Edson earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Oregon. He holds a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in global business from American Military University, as well as a second Master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in human resource management.
 
Edson furthered his education with a third master’s degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University, concurrent with his career in athletics administration. Additionally, Edson has pursued doctoral studies in business administration with a focus on business analytics at Marymount University, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
