In July 2026, Kourtney Chumbley joined the Tarleton State staff as an Athletic Academic Coordinator with almost a decade of collegiate athletics experience.

Prior to her time in Stephenville, Chumbley spent years as a collegiate tennis coach, helping lead programs to historic successes. She brings a coach’s perspective and a passion for student-athlete excellence.

Most recently, Chumbley helped guide both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at UT Tyler to Elite Eight appearances, the highest finish in the women’s program history. Prior to her time in Tyler, she spent five seasons at her alma mater, Ouachita Baptist, serving as the women’s tennis coach, building their most successful women’s tennis program since joining the Great American Conference in 2011. In the Spring of 2025, she was recognized as the GAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year. In addition to coaching, Chumbley spent time volunteering with Conference Carolinas, creating and editing educational curriculum for student-athlete programming.

Before Arkadelphia, Chumbley spent over three years at the Mount Olive. During her time, she served two years as the assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach while also leading the athletic department’s student-athlete leadership program. In her remaining time at UMO, Chumbley was promoted to the Director of Student-Athlete Development where she served as an academic liaison for the athletic department. In that role, she oversaw SAAC and student-athlete leadership committees, created life-skills and educational programming, plus coordinated department community service initiatives.

Chumbley was a four-year All-Conference tennis player at Ouachita Baptist, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Speech Communications in 2015. She later earned her master’s degree in Sport Administration at Arkansas State in 2024.

Chumbley is a Richardson, Texas, native. Her father and grandfather are both alumni of Tarleton State, with her father a former student-athlete for Texan Track and Field.
