Matthew Boyd is entering his first season at Tarleton State as Associate Athletic Director for Strategic NIL Initiatives in 2025-26, arriving in Stephenville from the Western Athletic Conference in May 2025.

Boyd is tasked to support and enhance Tarleton State’s efforts surrounding Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). At Tarleton State, Boyd will create opportunities for student-athletes, assist coaching staffs in navigating the evolving NIL landscape, and develop efficient processes to streamline NIL-related activities across the department.

Boyd spent the last three years at the WAC as a senior administrator and returns to a collegiate athletic department following stints at Kansas State (2015-18), Stanford (2018-20) and Northern Colorado (2020-22). Across those stops he has managed NIL tracking and review process, managed and processed athletic scholarships and institutional aid for student-athletes, reviewed and approved scholarships, collected revenue distribution data, developed and provided NCAA rules education, among other duties.

Boyd is a Blue Springs, Missouri, native. He received his master’s degree in sports management at the University of Central Missouri after earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration at University of Missouri-Kansas City. He and his wife Amber have three daughters, Nikki, Emery and Aurora.
