Ty Goodwin Head Shot

Ty Goodwin, MAT, LAT, ATC

When the 2026-27 season begins, Ty Goodwin will be in his second season at Tarleton State. Goodwin joined the Texans ahead of the 2025-26 season and works with the men's basketball program.

Goodwin is a native of Stephenville, Texas, graduating in the class of 2011. He then attended Howard Payne University and was a four-year member of the men's tennis team. He graduated in 2015 with a degree in sports science as well as obtaining his Texas Teacher's Certificate.

He first job post college was in the Dublin ISD. He spent six years there becoming the school's first full time athletic trainer. He also was a classroom teacher and spent his final two seasons as the men's tennis head coach from 2019-2021.

Goodwin then moved to Lubbock and attended graduate school at Texas Tech in 2021. He graduated with his Master's Degree in Athletic Training. While with the Red Raiders, he worked as an athletic trainer for both the baseball and football programs. In 2022, he was fortunate enough to be selected for an internship with the Las Vegas Raiders to assist the training staff for training camp and the preseason.

After graduation from Texas Tech he then moved to Belton, Texas and was an athletic trainer at the University fo Mary Hardin-Baylor for two seasons. With the Crusaders, he was the athletic trainer for the men's and women's basketball and golf programs.

He then moved back to his hometown of Stephenville ahead of the 2025-26 season. Goodwin and his wife, Ali, had their first child, Brooks in November of 2025. The three live and reside in Stephenville.
