ODESSA - The Tarleton TexAnns travel to Odessa on Monday, Jan. 11 to face Texas-Permian Basin in a non-conference battle before Lone Star Conference action begins next Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Falcon Dome on the UTPB campus
Tarleton (12-1) is coming off an 84-60 road win over Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday and brings in a current four-game winning streak into the game. UTPB (6-8) is coming off a 67-62 overtime win over Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday.
Tarleton is a perfect 7-0 all-time when playing UTPB, including a 1-0 mark against the Falcons in Odessa. The TexAnns defeated the Falcons 64-38 at Wisdom Gym in the season-opener earlier this season.
Brittnie Haley leads the TexAnns in scoring (12.6 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg) on the season.
JoAnne Jones follows in scoring (11.3 ppg), but leads the squad with 20 blocks mid-way through the season.
Sonya Sundberg tops the squad in with 52 assists, but
Shelby Adamson follows right behind her with 51. Adamson does lead the team defensively with 22 steals on the season.
As a team, the TexAnns are shooting .486 from the field, .378 from beyond the arc and .677 at the free throw line.
Tammy Acosta leads the Falcons averaging 13.6 points per game. Miesha Blackshear follows with a 12.6 ppg average and leads the team on the boards, averaging 7.3 rebounds a game. She also leads the team with 66 steals on the season.
UTPB shoots .383 from the field as a team, that includes a .271 percentage from the three-point line. The Falcons are converting .613 percent of their shots from the charity stripe.
