COMING HOME TO A WiN
The Texans return to Stephenville for just their third home game of the season after playing five of the first seven games in 2010 on the road.  Tarleton will host Texas A&M-Kingsville at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 for Homecoming 2010.

A LOOK AT THE RANKINGS
Tarleton is ranked not ranked in either the American Football Coaches Association poll nor the D2Football.com poll.  Tarleton was picked No. 18 in the D2Football.com preseason poll, No. 15 in the Sporting News Division II preseason poll and No. 8 in the Lindy's Division II Preseason Poll.

WEARING PINK
In support of Cancer Awareness month, the Tarleton Texans will be sporting pink shoe laces and pink tape on Saturday for the Homecoming game.  Cancer is a subject that hits close to home to a lot of people, including head coach Cary Fowler who has watched his mother battle with cancer for the last several years.  There are several other Tarleton football family members that have dealt with the disease on a first-hand basis through family and close friends.

HOME SWEET HOME
The Texans won five of six home games the last two seasons and have taken 43 of the last 57 contests played in Memorial Stadium.  The Texans had an eight-game winning streak before the 2004 season.  A 55-14 win over Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 13, 2001 began the winning streak before a loss to Southern Arkansas to open the 2004 season ended the streak on Sept 4, 2003.

The Texans have posted a 72-38 record at Memorial Stadium since 1990 and a 56-30 record at home since joining the LSC in 1995.

HOMECOMING GAMES
The Texans were 8-2 in Homecoming games during the decade of the 2000s. Tarleton is 28-21 overall in Homecoming games, dating back to the 1961 season when Tarleton became a senior college.

Tarleton has never played Texas A&M-Kingsville for Homecoming in Stephenville.

Tarleton has won the last two Homecoming contests - 13-6 over Abilene Christian (2009) and 42-21 over Eastern New Mexico (2008).

PLAYING THE RANKED
Tarleton is 37-17 when playing as a ranked team by the AFCA and 22-8 at home when playing as a ranked squad since joining NCAA Division II in 1995.  However, when playing an opponent that is ranked, the Texans are 11-31.  When both teams are ranked, Tarleton is 7-14 overall and 3-5 at home in the same situation.

GETTING THE WIN
The Texans started the 2006 season 0-3 and went on to win a share of the LSC South Division title.  Tarleton won the South Division opener that year at home against Texas A&M-Kingsville, 23-0 and finished 6-4.

THEY'VE BEEN EVERYWHERE, MAN
The Texans are playing their fifth road game in the first seven contests of the 2010 season.  Tarleton has traveled over 2,200 miles in the first seven weeks of the season.
