LAWTON, Okla. – The No. 6 Tarleton Texan men's basketball team will open Lone Star Conference crossover action on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. at Cameron in Lawton, Okla.
The Texans are undefeated (4-0) after a 104-32 victory over Hillsdale Free Will Baptist on Tuesday.
Corin Henry leads Tarleton with 15.3 points per game while Devon Hills (13.0), Darrion Washington (10.8), Warren Webb (10.5) and Donta Smith (10.0) are all averaging in double digits. Wes Dipprey leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game followed by Smith with 5.8. Henry has 20 assists and 11 steals (tied with Chris Harrell with 11) to lead the Texans.
Tarleton is averaging .522 from the floor, .342 from the three-point arc and .689 from the charity stripe while opponents are hitting .315 from the field, .361 from the arc and .701 from the line. Tarleton is outrebounding opponents 43.5 to 25.0 and outscoring them 94.0 to 45.5.
Cameron enters the game 3-0 overall with wins over Texas A&M-International (62-51), Panhandle State (73-63) and Hillsdale Free Will Baptist (68-61).
The Aggies are led by Vinicius Telo with 18.3 points per game while Thomas Razor (12.7) and Milton Garner (10.3) are also averaging in double figures. Nathan Murray leads the squad with 7.3 rebounds per game while Telo is second with 5.0 boards per outing.
Cameron is averaging .463 from the field, .318 from the arc and .768 from the line while they are allowing opponents to .410 from the floor, .321 from the arc and .597 from the stripe. The Aggies are outrebounding opponents 34.0 to 29.7 and outscoring them 67.7 to 58.3.
The two teams have met on 25 previous occasions, with Tarleton leading the all-time series, 16-9. Tarleton has won the last two meetings, including last year's 59-52 win in Stephenville on Dec. 21, 2009. Tarleton won the last time it went to Lawton on Jan. 10, 2009 (58-49).
