SAN ANTONIO – The Tarleton Texans will travel to San Antonio on Tuesday to take on the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals in a non-conference showdown at Sullivan Field.
The Texans are coming into the game after splitting a four-game series against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday and Saturday. The two wins moved the Texans into eighth place in the Lone Star Conference with an overall record of 15-18 while going 12-16 in conference play.
Incarnate Word comes into Tuesday's game on a four-game winning streak after sweeping a three game series with Newman University last week.
Chris Casazza comes into the game with a team-leading five home runs and 26 runs batted in while Junnior Dishmey leads the team in batting average at .480.
Andrew Wolfe is second on the team with a batting average of .363 and three different Texans lead the team in runs with 24 each.
Jake Sowell ranks ninth in the conference with an earned run average of 4.17 while earning a 3-2 record. Mike Ramirez leads the team with a 1.33 earned run average in limited action this season.
The Texans dropped the season series to the Cardinals 8-7 in Stephenville and 10-4 in San Antonio.
The game is scheduled a 3 p.m. start.
