STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton State (16-13, 10-7) ended their losing ways with an exclamation point after sweeping two streaking Lone Star Conference opponents Thursday and Saturday.
Now the TexAnns prepare for the final week of the season, including their final home game Tuesday night against Texas A&M-Commerce.
The Lions (10-15, 5-12) enter Tuesday's match in desperate need of a win, fighting for one of the last available spots in the Lone Star Conference tournaments.
Tarleton edged A&M-Commerce on the road Sept. 20 with a sweep and have already secured a berth in the LSC Championship tournament.
TAMUC is led by Rachel Robertson, who is making a case for all-conference recognition by leading the LSC in points per set at 4.61 and second in kills per set at 3.75.
Tuesday also marks the final home game for two-year letterman Breawn Waynes and four-year letterman - and Tarleton's all-time assist leader - Jessie Hartman. The senior tandem will be honored prior to the game.
The TexAnns will then hit the road Thursday and Saturday for a chance to play spoiler against a pair of LSC rivals.
Texas A&M-Kingsville (14-13, 6-12) and Incarnate Word (11-16, 6-12) are the final two games of the regular season for the TexAnns, and they are in a deadlock in eighth place in the LSC standings.
(Note: The top eight teams in the conference participate in the Championship Tournament.)
Tarleton defeated both foes in Stephenville Oct. 6 and 8 and could help determine the bracket breakdown for the LSC tournament.
Kelsey Washington leads the Javelinas with 3.06 kills per set while Lakeshia Craft is landing a team-high .282 hit percentage.
Stephanie Bonura will be the top hitter for the Cardinals in Saturday's finale with 2.65 kills per set while Danielle Vidaurri has a .305 hit percentage.
