Tarleton visits Kingsville in search of second straight LSC win

- Game Notes

STEPHENVILLE - Coming off a 12-point win against Cameron in Wisdom Gym, Tarleton (3-5, 1-0) looks to improve on their perfect conference record with a trip to south Texas Wednesday.

The TexAnns will make their lone trip to Texas A&M-Kingsville this week to face off with the Javelinas (1-5, 0-2), who are currently in transition under first year head coach Michael Trujillo.

Tarleton has struggled out of the gate this season, dropping five of its first eight games - four in tournament play - to match its last season loss total.

However, the TexAnns were able to bounce back and get an emphatic 71-59 win over Cameron Wednesday, who entered the contest 2-1.

Against Kingsville, Tarleton trails 15-18 in the all-time series, which dates back to 1986.

The TexAnns swept TAMUK last season with an 81-61 win in Stephenville and an 88-64 victory on the road. Tarleton has won 12 of the last 14 games against Kingsville, including three straight.

Shelby Adamson leads the TexAnns in numerous categories: scoring (15.3 ppg), assists (36), steals (14) and is tied for the team lead in blocks with six. Shanae Lowrance also has six blocks this season.

Peyton Adamson is the only other TexAnn averaging in double figures with 10.6 points per contest.

The Javelinas are led by a 5-8 senior transfer from Valdosta State, Amanda Haven, who is averaging 13.5 points per game. Inekka Stevenson (11.3 ppg) and Meagan Barlow (11.0 ppg) are also averaging double figures.

Tip-off from Hampton Inn Court is set for 6 p.m. and a live radio broadcast can be heard on KSTV 93.1 FM or at TarletonSports.com.
