LAREDO – The Tarleton TexAnn softball team split a non-conference doubleheader at Texas A&M-International in Laredo on Monday. The TexAnns won game one 7-4 in eight innings before dropping the nightcap, 6-0.

Tarleton is now 3-1 on the season as Samantha Swanda led the team to the win from the circle, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

The TexAnns scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning in the first game, holding the Dustdevils to just one run in the bottom of the inning to claim the win. In game two, the Dustdevils jumped out early and didn't look back as the TexAnns were shutout.
