STEPHENVILLE - The No. 15 Tarleton baseball team will host No. 13 St. Mary's Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex. The Rattlers will be looking to avenge a 6-5 loss handed to them earlier this year by the Texans.
Tarleton is 14-2 overall and 10-2 in the Lone Star Conference. They are one of the hottest teams in the country right now, entering Tuesday's match-up with a 10-game winning streak.
The Texans are coming off a three-game sweep of East Central, out-scoring the Tigers 22-6.
As a team, Tarleton is hitting a .290 average, a .438 slugging percentage, and recording a .384 on-base percentage.
Mark Jeffery leads the team with a .474 average to go along with 10 RBI's, 11 runs, and six doubles. He's also been hit by pitch 10 times this season and on-pace to break his school record of 22 set last season.
Chris Casazza has team-highs of 18 RBI's, 18 runs scored and six home runs.
Tarleton also has a LSC-leading .967 fielding percentage.
The pitching staff for the Texans has combined for a 3.66 ERA, compared to opponents' 5.86 ERA against them.
Miguel Ramirez is the staff ace with a 4-0 record, a .183 opposing batting average, and a 0.33 ERA, all of which lead the conference.
Ryan Turner is second in the LSC with four saves, to go along with his 3-0 record and 1.29 ERA.
Nathan Lewis has stepped up as of late, posting a 2-1 record and leading Tarleton with five starts.
St. Mary's has not forgotten their loss to Tarleton in the Texans' season-opener in San Antonio. Since that game, the Rattlers have gone 12-3, including an 11-game winning streak.
Overall, St. Mary's is 15-4 on the year and 4-1 away from home. They hit a .295 average as a team, with a .440 slugging percentage, and a .401 on-base percentage.
Tyler Migl leads the way for the Rattlers with a .470 average, an .818 slugging percentage, and 18 RBI's. He also has a team-high 12 doubles and 21 runs scored. Reagan Moczygemba has contributed 13 RBI's with a .316 average in a team-high 76 at-bats. Derek Moczygemba has added 17 RBI's, while Weston Baros has 16 RBI's and Jason Garcia has 13 RBI's.
