CANYON – Tarleton's Corin Henry has been named to the 2010-1 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men's Basketball South Central Region First Team and will advance to the All-American ballot.
Henry, a senior guard from Randallstown, Md., joins four others on the all-region team that is sponsored by Daktronics, a world leader in programmable electronic signs, electronic and digital displays and scoreboards.
Henry averaged 14.3 points per game and moved into No. 12 on Tarleton's all-time career assist list. This season, he has 25 double-digit scoring games, including scoring 20-plus points in six contests. He leads the 24-5 Texans 123 assists and 52 steals this season. Henry was named to the Lone Star Conference All-Tournament Team after being selected as the LSC South Division Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-LSC South Division honoree.
He is joined on the first team by region Player of the Year Skyler Bowlin of Missouri Southern, Chris Hagan of Midwestern State, Logan Stutz of Washburn and Daunte Williams of Central Oklahoma.
Named to the second team is Jason Adams of Missouri Southern, Tyler Bullock of Nebraska-Omaha, Will Faiivae of Texas A&M-International, Dominique Jones of Fort Hays State, LaDarius Hall of West Texas A&M and Kevin Kotzur of St. Mary's.
The voting is conducted by the region's sports information and media relations directors.
