STEPHENVILLE - The No. 18 Tarleton baseball team will head to Fort Worth Tuesday, April 12 to take on Texas Wesleyan for the second game of the season series with the Rams. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
The Texans are 28-7 so far this year and 13-3 on the road. They jumped to No. 18 to the national rankings and are currently on an 11-game winning streak.
As a team, Tarleton is hitting a .315 average and recording a .501 slugging percentage and a .412 on-base percentage.
Ethan Stuckly leads the team with a .422 average to go with 54 hits, 34 RBI's and 32 runs.
Chris Casazza has provided the power in the Texans line-up with 13 home runs and 36 RBI's, while
Mark Jeffery is hitting a .406 average and driving in 32 RBI's.
The Texan pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.83 compared to opponents' 6.73 ERA.
Nathan Lewis leads the team with a 6-1 record to go with a 4.86 ERA and 41 strikeouts. Closer
Ryan Turner has been excellent out of the bullpen with eight saves and a 2.13 ERA.
Jake Sowell has earned three wins in the last five games for Tarleton and has been another steadfast component of Tarleton's staff.
The Rams are 28-17 on the year and coming off a couple of close games. Their last three contests have been decided by two runs or less. Overall, Texas Wesleyan has posted a .300 average and a .420 slugging percentage. Eric Epperson leads the team with a .338 average to go along with 28 RBI's and 13 doubles. Joseph Lassiter has recorded 31 RBI's this season, while Taylor Jockers leads the Rams with 33 runs driven in.
Nolan Barbee has been the most productive of the Ram pitchers with a 6-2 record, a 2.44 ERA and two saves in 25 appearances. Patrick Stanley has been a stellar closer with 11 saves on the year, while Daniel Millman has added a 4-0 record.
First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday in Fort Worth.
