No. 30 Texans host Eastern New Mexico Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

STEPHENVILLE - With the threat of rain in Stephenville's forecast, Tarleton's baseball games have adjust their times to try to and avoid the incoming weather.  The Texans and Greyhounds will play a doubleheader Friday, April 22 starting at 1 p.m. and a single game Saturday, April 23, also starting at 1 p.m.

Tarleton is 30-10 on the year and 18-9 in the Lone Star Conference.  This marks the first 30-win season by a Tarleton baseball team since 2003.  The Texans have been difficult to beat at home, posting a 16-4 record at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex.

As a team, Tarleton is hitting a .310 average, with a .493 slugging percentage and a .410 on-base percentage.  Ethan Stuckly leads the offense with a .401 average to go with 20 extra-base hits, 37 RBI's and 59 hits.  Travis Hayes follows with a .375 average, while Mark Jeffery hits .366 and Zane Hensley hits a .362 mark.  Jeffery is second on the team with 35 RBI's, but leads the way in on-base percentage with a .517 percentage.  Chris Casazza has added 37 RBI's and 13 home runs on the season, while Landon has been dangerous on the base paths with 14 stolen bases.

The Texans have led the LSC all season with a .967 fielding percentage, which continues to be tops in the league.

Tarleton's pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.97, compared to opponents' 6.59 ERA.  Nathan Lewis leads the Texans with a 6-1 record to go along with a 4.86 ERA, 41 strikeouts and an opposing hitters average of .265.  Ryan Turner has a team-high eight saves, as well as a 5-2 record, a 3.30 ERA and 49 strikeouts.  Jake Sowell and Brandyn Greer lead a strong Tarleton bullpen, each with 4-0 records.

Eastern New Mexico has not had the success that the Texans have had, posting a 13-25 overall record and 8-19 conference mark.  The Greyhounds have also struggled on the road, winning just four of their 16 road contests.

ENMU's offense has a .294 batting average, a .395 slugging percentage and a .389 on-base percentage overall.  Mitch Wolfe leads the team with a .392 mark, 51 hits, five home runs and 36 RBI's.  Joe Huwer, Blake Thomsen and Daniel Patching are all hitting above .300 on the season and have combined for 47 RBI's, 77 runs scored and 13 stolen bases.

The Greyhound pitching staff has a combined ERA of 7.99.  Anthony Smith leads the team with a 5.19 ERA, two complete games and four saves, while Marcus Drake and Lane Drake both have 2-0 records.  Opposing hitters are posting a .375 average against the Greyhounds as a team.

First pitch is schedule for 1 p.m. on Friday as the start of the doubleheader, with the final game of the series starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Friday will be Autograph Day with fans receiving an autographed picture of the Texans after the second game of the doubleheader.  Kids under 13 will receive a special Easter treat as well.

Saturday will be Senior Day as the 14 Tarleton Texan seniors are recognized for their contributions to the Texan baseball program and Tarleton State University.
