STEPHENVILLE – For the second time this season,
Peyton Adamson came within one 3-pointer of tying the Tarleton single game record for three's in a game.
In her first seven three-pointer affair, she paced the TexAnns to a blowout of a Lone Star Conference foe and Wednesday night was no different as Adamson's 23 points lifted Tarleton (10-5, 7-0) to a 77-63 victory over Angelo State.
Her first game was a 27-point effort against Incarnate Word on Dec. 10.

The sophomore transfer got the game started by draining her first three shots – all from long distance – to give the TexAnns an early 9-0 lead just 1:26 into the contest.
Angelo managed a layup, but Tarleton continued to pour it on by scoring 11 unanswered to lead 20-2 with 15:17 left in the first half.
The rest of the half was all Tarleton as the TexAnns never led by less than 11 and stretched their lead to 21 on four different occasions.
At the end of the first half, Adamson had 15 points while
Shanae Lowrance totaled nine.
The second half was the same story as the TexAnns added to their tally, leading by as many as 31 points with 6:24 left in the game.
Angelo did manage to end the game on a 12-2 run to make the game only a 14-point loss.
Adamson finished with 23 points in 28 minutes on 8-12 shooting from the floor and 7-11 from 3-point land. The school mark for 3-pointers in a game is eight set by Katie Crawford.
Lowrance finished with 15 while
Kiara Wright just missed her third double-double of the season with 12 points and nine rebounds.
For the game, Tarleton shot 47 percent from the field and 47 percent from 3-point land. Angelo was 47 and 41 percent, respectively.
With the win, Tarleton pushes its current winning streak to eight and remains a top the Lone Star Conference standings with an undefeated conference record.
The TexAnns will be in Abilene Saturday for a 2 p.m. game against the Wildcats of Abilene Christian.
