Game Notes
STEPHENVILLE - There's going to be a Purple and White showdown in Abilene Saturday and the TexAnns are going in riding the strength of an eight-game win streak.
In a game that has all the makings of an offensive explosion, Tarleton (10-5, 7-0) enters Saturday's game with the reigning LSC Offensive Player of the Week, three players averaging double figures and the momentum from a 14-point win over Angelo State Wednesday.
Tarleton is fourth in the Lone Star Conference in scoring offense with 69.6 points per game while the Wildcats are third with 69.9 per contest.
The difference lies in the scoring defense where Tarleton is holding teams to 64.3 per game while the Wildcats are allowing 70.4.
The TexAnns are led in scoring by Kiara Wright with 15.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest, while Shelby (14.1) and Peyton (12.2) Adamson are also averaging double figures.
Peyton is leading or near the top in the Lone Star Conference in nearly every 3-point category. She leads the conference in 3-pointers made (39), made per game (2.6), and is second in 3-point percentage (.390) on 39-100 shooting.
Senior point guard Lisa Parker is also chipping in 6.6 points and 2.7 assists per contest and was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Game earlier this week.
The Wildcats are led by sophomore guard Mack Lankford with 17.1 points in nine games this season.
Lankford leads her team with nearly 15 shot attempts per game.
Tip-off between Abilene Christian is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Moody Coliseum in Abilene.
