- Box Score

ABILENE – When the No. 3 and No. 4 offenses in the Lone Star Conference got together Saturday afternoon, there were plenty of points to go around.

Tarleton scored a season-high 90 points in the TexAnns (11-5, 8-0) ninth straight victory – a 90-74 win against Abilene Christian (7-8, 2-7) at Moody Coliseum.

In this game, there were a total of 164 total points scored and six total players in double figures including a 28-point effort from Peyton Adamson for her second straight 20-plus scoring game.

After ACU's Kelsey Smith and Tarleton's Kiara Wright traded buckets to start the game, Abilene Christian went on a 6-2 push to lead 8-4 with 16:49 left in the first half.

Over the next three minutes, Abilene Christian stretched its lead to as many as six on three different occasions and sent Tarleton's Shelby Adamson to the bench with two fouls in the first six minutes.

But the rest of the TexAnns picked up the slack, starting with Peyton.

With Tarleton trailing 19-17, Peyton went off.

The sophomore drained her second 3-ball of the game to start an 8-0 TexAnn run. That run was supported with a pair of Wright layups and a Brianna Bledsoe driving layup to give Tarleton a 25-19 lead with 9:03 left.

After an ACU free throw, the Tarleton scoring continued with a 10-3 run to give Tarleton its biggest lead of the afternoon at 35-23. Peyton had six of the 10 points over that stretch.

ACU answered with a 17-6 run to cut the TexAnn lead to one at the 1:36 mark, but a Cheyenne Berry jumper gave the TexAnns some breathing room at 43-40.

Peyton and Berry hit another 3-pointer and jumper, respectively, while ACU hit three free throws to go into the locker room with a 48-43 lead.

Tarleton continued its offensive onslaught with the Adamson sisters accounting for a 5-2 run just one minute into the new half.

Over the next six minutes, ACU answered with a 13-5 run to cut the TexAnn lead to just 62-58 with 13:01 left in the game. Lisa Parker ended that run with a 3-pointer off a pass from Berry with 12:18 left.

Tarleton never lead by less than six as the TexAnns cruised to its ninth straight victory.

Adamson led the TexAnns with her career-high 28 points on 9-13 shooting and 7-9 from the 3-point line. This marks the third game this season in which Peyton has hit seven three-pointers.

Shanae Lowrance tied her career-high with 16 points while Wright just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Wright also led the team with four assists.

For Abilene Christian, the scoring was simply a two-person attack as Mack Lankford led all scorers with 31 points on 7-22 shooting from the floor and Kelsey Smith added 18.
